Maintenance Assistant
We are looking for an enthusiastic and task-driven Maintenance Assistant to join the Boneham Aged Care Services Maintenance Team. The role supports our Maintenance and Special Projects Supervisor with the execution and upkeep of Boneham Aged Care building projects, plant, and equipment.
Reporting to the Maintenance and Special Projects Supervisor essential skills include:
- Demonstrated ability in providing general maintenance services, with a deadline-oriented approach to tasks.
- Effective time management skills with the ability to work in a team but also autonomously.
- Understanding of Work Health and Safety within the workplace and maintaining a safe and clean work environment.
- Effective Communication skills (oral and written) with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organisation in a transparent manner.
- Self-motivated and efficient approach to tasks.
- Understanding the importance of confidentiality in an Aged Care setting.
- Integrity and a demonstrated commitment to excellent care of Aged Residents.
- Painting experience preferred
- Gardening experience preferred
- White Card or similar trade tickets will be beneficial but not essential.
- Drivers license essential
Summary of duties include:
- To monitor the provision of maintenance and repair services by sub-contractors.
- Basic ‘testing and tagging’ of electrical equipment.
- To provide general repair and maintenance services throughout the complex.
- To monitor maintenance supplies, re-ordering where required.
- To maintain all equipment in a clean, safe, and useable condition.
- Complying with all reasonably instructions, policies, procedures and programs relating to health, safety and welfare, including relevant Fire and Evacuation plans, Boneham Aged Care Services WH&S Policy, and relevant Regulations and Codes of Practice approved by the South Australian occupational Health & Safety Commission.
